Important Notes On Using Client Databases
As part of deploying multiple client databases carefully note the following: - As all client databases use the same IIS site it is not possible to upgrade software on one Client DB (Client Silo) in isolation.
- There are shared services across all clients that need to be carefully considered especially when looking at load processes.
- Further IIS bindings can be used to create new URLs.
- The SQL server must be performant enough to cope with the extra load of new Client DB and users.
- The IIS server must be performant enough to cope with the extra load of new Client users.
- One Web application server can only communicate with one SQL instance and one SQL instance can only communicate with one Web application Server.
- The defined system administrator account for each Client will be able to view and create Logons for other Client silos unless this permission is explicitly denied.
